FLASPAN January 2025 Board Meeting

Happy 2025! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.  

We had our first FLASPAN Board meeting on Saturday and we accomplished a lot in the few hours we met.  We were able to up-date all the policies and procedures that are due for 2025 and they are now on the website under "About Us".  Also, under that tab are the current officers and district representatives.

We still have several board positions open, including secretary- elect and president-elect.  We still need several district representatives, including two for our southeast district, one for our southwest district, and one for our central east district. If you are interested in being a district representative, please let us know.  I have attached a district map so you can find the district you belong to.  Our next board meeting will be a Zoom meeting on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 0800-1200 EST.  If you are interested in attending this meeting, let me know and I will send you a link.  

FLASPAN will be offering a 2-hour CEU webinar for PANAW week on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 0845- 1115 EST. This will be free for ASPAN/FLASPAN members and $20 for non-members.   Registration is now open, so be sure to register for this event.  You can find the registration link under "events".

Like in past years, FLASPAN will be offering scholarships to offset the cost of the ASPAN National Conference.  This year it will be held in Dallas, Texas from April 27 to April 30, 2025.  The scholarship application can be found under awards and scholarships. The applications are due by February 21, 2025.  We will be deciding on who will receive scholarships on March 1, 2025, and the applicants will be notified by Sunday, March 2, 2025.  You must be a current ASPAN/FLASPAN member for at least a year. Those who have received a FLASPAN scholarship in the past two (2) years and those being funded by an employer or another organization are not eligible.  

Our state conference will be offered on Saturday, October 18, 2025. It will be held at the Hilton Garden inn in Orlando, Florida.  More information will be posted as it becomes available.  If you are interested in helping with the state conference, please contact Kim Pilote, our state conference planning committee chair.  

I hope that we will see more new faces at our board meetings and educational offerings.
